If you have been granted a study permit, you can now travel to Norway and start your studies.

If you have been granted a residence permit for work purposes, you can now travel to Norway. When you have been to the police and the police have ordered your residence card, you can start working.

Asylum seekers are entitled to healthcare from they arrive in Norway requesting asylum. All health personnel in Norway are bound by a duty of confidentiality.

When you have submitted an application for family immigration, you may be summoned for an interview. You normally have to wait in your home country until UDI has finished processing your application.

You may apply for assisted return to your home country, or another country where you have residence permit, at any time.

It is important that you apply for renewal in good time before your residence permit expires if you want to retain all your rights.

If you have a permanent residence permit, or a temporary residence permit that forms the basis for a permanent residence permit, you cannot be granted protection (asylum) in Norway.

If you have been granted a local border traffic permit, you must collect it from the consulate in Murmansk.

If your application for a visitor visa is granted, a visa will be affixed to a page in your passport so that you can travel to Norway.

You cannot apply for assisted return to Syria, but you can apply for assisted return to another country where you have a residence permit.

If you have permanent residence you must order a new card in plenty of time before the old card expires. You can also order a new card if your card has been lost, damaged, stolen or contains errors.

You will be granted a residence permit as a refugee – normally for five years. Your residence permit can be renewed by application.
